The designs for this site, which was to replace a petrol station and a retail unit, explored options for developing a larger building that would accommodate either residential units or student accommodation. The brief was to maintain the retail unit on site (which was not to cease operation during the construction process) and allow for reasonable separation between the commercial and residential use of the building. Due to the proximity of this site to the Acton Town underground station, there was to be a limited number of cars on site, although an option with a basement was also developed in order to accommodate considerably more cars and some additional retail storage/ plant room space. The study was developed for The Cherwell Group in 2016
