This substantial property (locally known as the Inspector Morse House after the series that was filmed there), situated in Ealing, West London was identified as a Building of Local Merit by the local authority some years ago. The house was sitting abandoned for a considerable time, primarily due to various planning restrictions that were preventing implementation of any financially viable proposals. The planning was finally granted in 2010 (then modified and reapproved in 2013) for a substantial rear extension with a basement and sub-division into 11 self-contained flats, with associated off-street parking and landscape. The scheme was completed in 2014, with all flats sold off-plan some 4 months prior to completion of construction works.
